Before You Begin

Rules

These rules are designed to give every player a clear, fair foundation for telling stories together whilst also help limit the strain on our server so everyone can have as smooth and fun experience as possible.

General Rules
  • Respect your fellow players in game and on Discord.
  • Report rule breaks via Discord ticket, not publicly.
  • No discussions about real-life politics or religion.
  • No promotion of other servers without admin consent.
  • All characters and clans must be registered on Discord.
  • No exploits or hacks.
  • No players or characters under 18.
  • No in-game pregnancies.
  • Items lost due to game bugs will not be replaced.
Roleplay Rules
  • No RP avoidance, a minimal emote or response is required.
  • Names must be RP-appropriate, no gamer tags or numbers, and must be formatted correctly.
  • No pop-culture names, all names should be Hyborian Age appropriate.
  • Local chat is IC, global chat is OOC and clan chat is OOC.
  • No global IC raven emotes, this leads to metagaming, we have a messaging mod and whisper system.
  • No global general emotes describing events happening to your character.
  • Thought emotes are only permitted if you tie them to an IC tell, people are not mind readers.
  • No powergaming, attempts need the other player's input or a roll.
  • No godmodding or metagaming.
  • Differing accounts of events are valid RP.
  • ERP is allowed only in local and not in public spaces, with mutual consent.
  • Villain characters are permitted but require admin discussion, they are not a reason for just PvPing and griefing.
  • No OOC bleed, separate players and their characters, IC behaviour does not reflect the player behind the character.

Non-Human & Alt Characters

  • Alt characters require explicit admin approval.
  • Alt characters require specific conditions to be met before approval.
  • Non-human characters need admin approval.
  • Non-human characters must fit within Hyborian Age lore.
  • Non-human characters' abilities are discussed with admins in a ticket.
  • Non-human characters must look mostly human.
PvP & Theft Rules

PvP

  • PvP intent is always required. It requires prior RP interaction with a bracketed (PVP) flag at the end.
  • The aggressor must give a reasonable amount of time for the other player to reply, perhaps to convince or parley through RP. If the other player draws their weapon, moves towards the aggressor, or attempts to run away, that is consent to start the PvP.
  • Once combat ends through death or escape, new RP and a new tag are needed before re-engaging.
  • Aggressive thralls attacking and killing untagged players counts as KOS and is not allowed.
  • Corpse looting is restricted to 3 items or stacks.
  • No attacking AFK players.

Theft

  • Stealing from a player's or clan's buildings does not have a limit.
  • A non-perishable calling card must be used. This becomes your thief's calling card, and you must place it in the container you steal from.
  • Career thieves are advised to register with the Thieves Guild.
  • It is the player's responsibility to ensure their chests are locked, doors are disabled for thrall use, benches are not accessible from windows, and to be aware of other ways players can steal. Admins will not replace items due to theft.
  • To ensure a fair experience and prevent thieves from having free rein without repercussions, we have designed a breadcrumb system that uses reported thieves' calling cards to provide clues about the thief's identity.
Building Rules

Permitted Builds

  • 3 build sites: 1 main base and 2 outposts.
  • 1 barkeeper per clan.
  • Random maprooms, bridges, elevators, or teleporters outside your main base or outposts will be deleted on sight.

Build Size

  • Solo players: 1,500 pieces.
  • Clans: 1,500 pieces plus 500 per additional active member.
  • Members must be active players, not placeholders for extra pieces.
  • Landholders earn 250 extra pieces per plot they own.

Main Base

  • Builds should be immersive, thematic, and make sense. No box builds.
  • Foundation stacking is limited to 3 high.
  • Towns, villages, castles, and keeps are welcome. Each structure must be within 8 foundations of another; they do not need to connect.
  • Every building must serve a role. No empty shells, land claiming with non-functional builds, or foundation spam.
  • Builds must not block essential resources or pet, thrall, and legendary creature spawns.

Outposts

  • Must not take up more than a 6x6 space or a 4-ring circular space.
  • Must be labelled as an outpost with a sign.

Purge Bases

  • Must sit in the same tile as your main base and as close to it as possible. Otherwise, they count as an outpost and its size limit applies.
  • No maze-style purge bases; they will be removed without warning.
  • No glitches are to be used. Any glitched thrall or build will be removed.
  • Purges are permitted at any time except during an event.

Trap Bases and PvP Boxes

  • Trap bases and PvP boxes are banned. Builds designed to imprison, kill, or loot players who enter them will be removed, and the owner will be subject to enforcement.

Temporary Event Builds

  • You are allowed to build an additional structure for a player-run event.
  • Size, location, and duration must be agreed with staff before construction.
  • One week will be given for construction, hosting, and teardown, but additional time may be granted in exceptional cases.

Debris and Lag Control

  • Clean up your fire pits, chests, and temporary shelters; these are considered server clutter.
  • Limit particle-effect decorations and lights.
  • Keep fish traps, animal pens, compost bins, stables, beehives, and crafting benches to 5 or fewer of each.
Enforcement
  • Admins have the final say. Rulings may be based on the spirit of the rules, not just the letter.
  • This is a private server. Playing here means accepting the standards and the staff who enforce them.
  • Disagree with a ruling? Open a ticket. Arguing rulings in public channels is itself a rule break.

Strikes

  • Issued for any rule break.
  • First strike: formal reprimand logged in a ticket.
  • Second strike: temporary removal from the server. Rules must be re-acknowledged before returning.
  • Third strike: permanent ban.

Instant Permanent Bans

  • Bigotry of any kind.
  • Ignoring consent.
  • Cheating, exploiting, or hacking for gain at another player's expense.
  • Deliberate griefing or harassment.

Notes

  • Punishments apply to the player, not the character. Rerolling does not clear your record.
  • Leaving and rejoining the server or Discord does not reset warnings or strikes.
  • Severe cases can skip steps of the ladder entirely at admin discretion.
